Christmas Traditions

The holidays are in full swing!

So far this month we have decorated gingerbread houses, ice skated, had our pictures made with Santa, on the beach of course.

The pictures turned out freaking awesome, love them!

We had our annual Christmas Party last weekend and watched the boat parade from the back yard.

Saturday we also went in search for the perfect Christmas tree to put in Chris’s parents house.  We headed out to Fish River Tree farm early Saturday morning to meet the family.  The goal; find the biggest widest tree we can find!  You might wonder how tall the ceiling are in Chris’s parents house?  Well they are only 11 foot.  Before they drag the tree into the house the guys cut the top of the tree off!  The tree is so large they have a pulley system rigged into the ceiling to pull the tree into place and hold it there.  Crazy I know but it’s tradition!

Last years the tree was a good 14 foot.

Video of the family trying to get the tree through the door.

Unfortunately this year the tallest tree we could find was 10 1/2 foot.  The family was very disappointed.  Although, Chris’s mom might actually get to put an angel on the tree this year.

Our family picture in front of the tree.  Yep that is a goat in the picture.  The goat loved playing with the boys and followed us around everywhere.  The goat even jumped in the trailer with the boys.

I guess we did not need the trailer this year!

Meanwhile in adventures of the Jennings clan…

I had to share this video of Cole ice skating!  Looks like it hurt, but his friends were around so he acted tough.

Does your family have any crazy holiday traditions?

  1. Holy giant tree!! That's awesome! We don't really have crazy traditions, but we always go to the Christmas eve service at my church and watch home alone on Xmas night. It's my sister and my favorite! Have a happy Friday! Spa <3

  2. I am laughing, that does not look like Christmas to a midwest gile who is looking at 2 feet of snow outside! We don't really have any crazy traditions yet but always go to the holiday parade.
